Dr. Y. Stoly’s background entails rigorous training in various medical specialties involving the treatment of patients with injuries and diseases of joints, bones, and muscles. Upon graduating from St. Mathew’s University School of Medicine, he completed clinical rotations in various hospitals throughout New York City. He completed his core Surgical Residency Training at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, NY, followed by three years of residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR) and Interventional Pain Management at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Y. Stoly is doctor of Oriental Medicine and was trained in the College of Health Professions in United States as well as in China. He is licensed in Acupuncture. Dr. Y. Stoly was a professional athlete in the past and also holds a degree in Physical Education and Sport.
As an avid researcher, Dr. Y. Stoly has dedicated significant amounts of his time to study Interventional Pain Medicine, Sports and Exercise Medicine. His work on trauma prevention and treatments in Athletes has been presented at conferences and International meetings.
Dr. Stoly’s areas of expertise include sports/exercise medicine, interventional pain management, musculoskeletal disorders, and physical and neurological rehabilitation including all necessary electrodiagnostic testings. He is proficient with a variety of injection techniques, including trigger points, intra-articular joint, peripheral nerve blocks, collagen, steroid and Botox injections. He is well known for his ability to communicate with patients when it comes to discussing surgical options and treatment plans.
His vast experience in the musculoskeletal injury space will allow him to develop a positive rapport with patients and give him a unique understanding of his patient’s experiences. Dr. Stoly strives to provide a holistic approach to his patients by using pain management, musculoskeletal injections, interventional medicine and Integrative Medicine as an Acupuncture Electroacupuncture, Moxibustion, Auricolotherapy and Cupping to obtain the best possible results.
